The Ass And The Bull
Once, a farmer had a bull and an ass; the bull to work in the fields and the ass to carry
the farmer to the market. The farmer would feed the bull with lots of hay and straw as he had to do all the hard work. Due to this, the ass had become envious of the bull. One night, he thought,”If the bull shirks his work, he will definitely get athrashing from the farmer.”So, the ass said the bull,” Tch, tch! How hard is your life, friend! Why don’t you pretend to be ill and take rest tomorrow?” Now the farmer chanced to hear all this. In the morning when the bull pretended tobe ill, the farmer said,” Fine, dear bull! You take rest. Today, I shall take the ass to work in the fields.” And then the ass was made to pull the heavy plough. He go rightly punished for being crafty.
