1841 : British take control of Hong Kong Island.

1948 : A fourth attempt was made to assassinate Mahatma Gandhi. Earlier there were attempts to kill him in 1934, 1944 and 1944.

1775 : André Ampère - French physicist. (Died : June 10, 1836)

1861 : Birth of Kashibai Govindrao Kanitkar, the first woman story - novelist, essayist and editor in Marathi.

1871 : Sir Ratanji Jamsetji Tata - industrialist and philanthropist of the Tata family. (Died : 5 September 1918)

1889 : Birth of the great patriot and ascetic Masurkar Maharaj.

1930 : Birth of Buzz Aldrin, the second American astronaut to land on the moon.

1960 : Apa Sherpa - Nepali climber who successfully climbed Mount Everest 19 times.

1951: Amritlal Vitthaldas Thakkar (Thakkar Bappa) Social Worker. (Born : 29 November 1869)

1980 : Kasturbhai Lalbhai - Philanthropist and nationalist industrialist, Padma Bhushan (1969), Director of Reserve Bank of India (1937 - 1949). He started many mills and factories like Arvind Mills, Ashok Mills, Atul. In his mills he formed co-operative societies for the welfare of workers. (Born : 19 December 1894)

1988 : Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan. (Sarhad Gandhi) (Born : June 3, 1890)

2002 : Rameswarnath Kao - Founding Chairman of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), Indian intelligence agency. Kao is considered as the ambassador of Indian intelligence. (Born : 10 May 1918)

DON'T CHANGE THE WORLD

Once upon a time, there was a king who ruled a prosperous country. One day, he went for a trip to some distant areas of his country. When he was back to his palace, he complained that his feet were very painful, because it was the first time that he went for such a long trip, and the road that he went through was very rough and stony. He then ordered his people to cover every road of the entire country with leather.

Definitely, this would need thousands of cows' skin, and would cost a huge amount of money. Then one of his wise servants dared himself to tell the king, "Why do you have to spend that unnecessary amount of money? Why don't you just cut a little piece of leather to cover your feet?"

The king was surprised, but he later agreed to his suggestion, to make a "shoe" for himself.

Moral : To make this world a happy place to live, you better change yourself - your heart; and not the world.

SPECIAL INTRODUCTION

RATAN TATA

Ratan Tata is a well-known businessman in India and the world. His full name is Naval Ratan Tata. On the strength of his hard work and dedication, he has expanded his business not only in India but in many countries of the world. Many types of companies are operated by Tata Group in India such as Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Power, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Tea, Tata Chemicals, Indian Hotels, Tata Teleservices, etc. Ratan Tata is said to have made many loss-making companies profitable through his business policy. Ratan Tata is a source of inspiration for us.

His father's name was Naval Hormusji Tata and his mother's name was Sonu Tata. His parents separated when he was 10 years old. He was raised by his grandmother. His grandfather's name was Jamsetji Tata, he is considered the founder of the Tata Group. Naval Tata was the adopted son of Jamsetji Tata's younger son Ratanji Tata. His uncle's name is J.R.D. It's Tata. Ratan Tata has a brother, Jimmy, and a half-brother, Noel Tata.

His early education was completed at Campion School, for further studies he went to the USA, where he did his BS in Cornell University Architecture, after which he joined Harvard Business School where he earned a degree in Advanced Management.

Ratan Tata worked briefly at Jones & Emmons in Los Angeles, California before returning to India. His intention was to settle in California, America, but when his grandmother's health deteriorated in India, he had to come to India and after coming to India, he worked with IBM. But his uncle JRD Tata did not like that the son of his house should work in another company.

He offered her to work in Tata Steel and this is where her career started. Started working with Tata Steel in 1961. In the initial days, he used to work in the furnace as a laborer and slept on the ground. After that, he gradually joined other companies of Tata Group.

Ratan Tata issued public issues of Tata Consulting Company and got Tata Motors Company listed in the youth stock market of America. The first car was manufactured by Tata Motors in 1998 and was named Indica. After this, other cars were also launched by the company in the market like Tetley, Jaguar Land Rover, etc. On 28 December 2012, Ratan Tata resigned from all posts in the Tata Group and was replaced by Cyrus Mistry, the Executive Chairman of the Tata Group.

However, due to some reasons, he was fired from the company and then Ratan Tata became the executive chairman of the company. After this, in 2017 this same Natarajan was made the company's president, today Ratan Tata may have retired from the company but he is always active in the company's work.
