STORY TELLING
AS YOU SOW, SO SHALL YOU REAP
One night, three thieves stole a lot of money from a rich man's house. They put the money in a bag and went to the forest. They felt very hungry. So, one of them went to a nearby village to buy food. The other two remained in the forest to take care of the bag of money. The thief that went for food had an evil idea. He ate his food at a hotel. Then he bought food for his two mates in the forest. He mixed a strong poison with the food. He thought, "Those two will eat this poisoned food and die. Then I will get all the money for myself."
Meanwhile, the two wicked men in the forest decided to kill their mate on return. They thought that they would divide the money between the two of them. All the three wicked men carried out their cruel plans. The thief who wanted all the money for himself came to the forest with the poisoned food. The two men in the forest hit him and killed him. Then they ate the poisoned food and died. Thus, these evil people met with an evil end.
Moral : Evil begets evil.

SPECIAL INTRODUCTION
VIJAY LAXMAN MANJREKAR
(Backbone of Indian Cricket Team)
[26 September 1931 - 18 October 1983]
He represented India in 55 Tests in which he scored just at an average of 39- A disappointment as many cricketers suggested he had the talent to score a lot more but his footwork due to his excess weight let him down.
Vijay Laxman Manjrekar was born on the 26th of September, 1931 at Bombay. He along with being a batsman was a part-time off-spinner and also an occasional wicket-keeper. He played for 6 Ranji Teams throughout his career- Mumbai, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra scoring 3734 runs at an average of 57.44.
He debuted against England in Calcutta in 1952 where he made 48. His first innings of note came when he was just 20 and scored a century in Headingley in England in June 1952 scoring a masterful 133 which included a match-saving partnership of 222 runs with another Vijay-Vijay Hazare the captain of the Indian cricket team.
He was a capable player but only due to his bad footwork which was a result of gaining extra weight, he had very few innings of note. Some of the other memorable moments of his batting was 1955-56 series of New Zealand vs India where he scored 386 runs at an average of 77.20 and the 1961-62 series of England vs India where he scored 586 runs at an average of 83.71.
He also played handy knocks of 59 and 39 in India’s second win against Australia in 1964-65. He also held the record for most runs without hitting a six which was later broken by Jonathan Trott of England.
He signed off in style with a century in the final innings of his career against New Zealand in February-March, 1965. His son, Sanjay Manjrekar also went on to play test cricket and is only one of three father-son duos to have scored at least 2000 Test runs each. They are the only Indian father-son duo to do so.
He was awarded the Arjuna Award in 1965. He died on the 18th of October, 1983 aged 52 in Madras when he had visited a sportsmen’s gathering.
